Courtney is the director of our North York clinic. She has been a key member of Cornerstone since 2008. As a Credentialed McKenzie Therapist (MDT) and a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT), her patients receive the best care possible. Her experience and leadership in the field of physiotherapy has inspired excellent outcomes for her patients and the students that she mentors. Courtney believes that directly involving the patient in treatment planning promotes patient confidence and recovery. Three pointers and fade away jumpers are also listed as Courtney’s specialties.

Joon is an experienced and respected vestibular physiotherapist. He has worked with complex dizziness cases since 2007. He holds the industry’s most respected qualifications in this field including the Certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation through the Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. He believes that a balance between preventative maintenance and treating the root cause of injury is critical. As one of the founders of Cornerstone, Joon provides clinical mentorship to our staff, and he teaches students of vestibular physiotherapy. Once upon a time, Joon was a professional musician, singing his way across North America and Great Britain.

Julia is an experienced therapist who strives to help her patients achieve their goals quickly. She believes in involving her patients in their recovery by education and providing them with knowledge about their injury and treatment plan. She uses evidence based manual therapy, exercise prescription and acupuncture/dry needling to achieve successful outcomes. She is committed to ongoing education, and is currently pursuing courses in manual therapy through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopedic Division to achieve her fellowship designation, and is certified in Integrated Dry Needling. She has a special interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation, and has completed training to help patients with various types of dizziness disorders, including the prestigious Emory University Vestibular Rehabilitation Certificate Program. In her downtime, Julia enjoys yoga, running, squash, and generally being outside, trying to plan at least a couple of camping trips a year.

Cedric is passionate about orthopaedic Physiotherapy obtaining degrees in both Kinesiology and Physiotherapy from McMaster University. His passion is evident through his dedication to continuing education for manual therapy through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic Division. His hard work has resulted in his achievement of full credentialing and he is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). His belief in a well-rounded approach to treatment had also led to full qualifications as an acupuncturist. Cedric is a well rounded athlete who participates in swimming, running, strength training, dragon-boat racing and snowboarding. This makes him an excellent fit for the injured athlete or weekend warrior who is looking to get back in the game as soon as possible!
In addition to all of these skills, Cedric can speak conversational Cantonese as well!

Rosalina obtained her Master’s of Physiotherapy from McGill University. During her Master’s program she completed a 6 week intensive pelvic health training program, and it was during that course she became passionate about pelvic health physiotherapy and pain science. Since then, she has completed and continues to pursue many post-graduate pelvic health courses as she strongly believes in continuing education. She is experienced in treating a variety of pelvic health conditions such as persistent pelvic pain, ano-rectal dysfunction, urogenital dysfunction as well as postpartum/prenatal care – this population includes high level athletes who she helps return to their activities postpartum. Rosalina utilizes a biopsychosocial approach in her assessments and treatment with an emphasis on educating/empowering her clients, manual therapy, and functional exercises prescription. Rosalina is committed to evidence based practice and truly understanding the client’s needs and concerns. In her spare time she enjoys various physical activities, including running, dancing and hot yoga. She also enjoys finding healthy alternative to baked goods and cooking.

Ellie is an exceptional physiotherapist who treats both orthopaedic and pelvic patients.  Her background in pelvic health rehabilitation has provided her with a unique appreciation of neuromuscular motor control, alignment, and pain science. She is passionate about continuing education.  After completing her Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University, and Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University she has gone on to pursue post-graduate education in  manual therapy, acupuncture, gait analysis and a plethora of  pelvic health courses. Ellie particularly loves to treat clients with a chronic pain and long-standing injuries, as she experienced first-hand the impact chronic conditions can have after suffering a concussion. She understands how rehabilitation can be both a physical and psychological recovery process, and believes in treating the client as a whole and figuring out the root cause of the symptoms, rather than just symptom management. Ellie’s favourite part of being a physiotherapist is that it allows her to not only be creative, but also solve complex body mechanics problems, so as to directly improve the quality of life of her clients. In her spare time, Ellie likes to play guitar, dance, read, hit the gym, and do yoga.

Adam is an experienced physiotherapist with the highest levels of training in orthopaedic physiotherapy. In addition to his professional physiotherapy degree, he has completed a post-graduate Masters of Clinical Science (MClSc) and is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapists (FCAMPT). He is also fully credentialed by the McKenzie Institute International (Cred. MDT). As a clinician, researcher, educator and founder of Cornerstone, Adam provides clinical and educational leadership within the organization and externally at Western University. Adam is also an Advanced Practice Clinician for the University Health Network’s Interdisciplinary Spine Assessment and Education Clinic (ISEAC) program.

Julie graduated from McGill University with a Master’s Degree in physiotherapy. After her graduation, she practiced in private clinics in Montreal and in Gatineau, treating both orthopedic and pelvic health clientele. To perfect her knowledge in pelvic health she is currently completing a university level 2.5 year-long graduate program focusing on pelvic health, offered only at University of Montreal. Julie is also passionate about orthopedic physiotherapy. She has extensive training in this as well having completed a master’s project on hip and knee replacements and many post-graduate courses some of which include the McKenzie method of assessing and treating low back and necks and the management of chronic conditions, such as fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. Born in China and raised in Montreal, Julie speaks 3 languages fluently: English, French, and Mandarin-Chinese. In her spare time, Julie enjoys running, swimming, cross-country and downhill skiing, and training at the gym.

Greg is a passionate physiotherapist who is committed to helping his patients achieve their goals as quickly as possible. He received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Greg is currently in the midst of pursuing hands-on manual therapy courses in order to achieve the designation of Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual Physical Therapy (FCAMPT). He has also completed a sport physiotherapy fellowship at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in London, Ontario where he worked in the clinic and on the field with the Western University football team helping keep them healthy as they made their way to the national championship game.

Additionally, Greg is proud to be involved with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and he serves on the executive of one of its interest groups in a volunteer position. In his spare time, Greg likes to play soccer and do trivia nights with friends. He used to play rugby with the Queen’s Rugby Football Club.

After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science, Laura obtained her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Toronto. Laura is fascinated by the science of movement and developed a passion for orthopaedics throughout her training. In her practice she utilizes a combination of manual therapy, targeted exercise prescription, and education to help individuals achieve their goals and get back to the things they love.

Laura is an advocate of life-long learning and enjoys staying up to date on the latest research. She is currently pursuing post-graduate training in Manual Therapy from the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She also has a special interest in Vestibular Rehabilitation.

In her spare time you can find Laura at spin class, running at the waterfront, or petting dogs in the park. Laura believes in the power of positivity and is rarely spotted without a smile on her face.

Matthew has been a part of Cornerstone since 2008. He takes great pride in helping patients understand why they are experiencing their symptoms and in successfully translating this into effective patient care. He draws from his clinical experience and an extensive athletic background to guide his treatment of sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions as well as stress or tension reducing massage. If you notice that Matthew is especially coordinated, it’s not by accident. He was a professional ballet dancer with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

Sophia has been a massage therapist since 2008. Her extensive experience involves assessing and treating patients with sports injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, stress-related pains and orthopaedic conditions. She also specializes in chronic pain and headache treatments. The ten years she has spent working with doctors and specialists in the chronic pain field gave her the knowledge and skills required to successfully identify and provide treatments for migraines, tension headaches, fibromyalgia, frozen shoulder, and chronic pain management.

Sophia was a faculty member at Everest College and later at Pharma-Medical College of Canada, who has taught various RMT courses like Massage Techniques, Hydrotherapy, Ethics, and Pharmacology. Sophia is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Outside of work, her other passion is writing. Specifically sci-fi and fantasy novels, one of which has been published.
